Balbek Bureau 6:19 Studio

　　6:19 Studio位于基辅历史悠久的Podil街区，是一家住宅楼底层的纹身店。由乌克兰艺术家Ulyana Nesheva创立的首间 111 平方米的室内空间将成为Ulyana独特风格和艺术视野的体现。
　　Located in Kyiv’s historic neighbourhood of Podil, 6:19 Studio is a tattoo parlour set within the ground floor of a residential building. Founded by Ukrainian artist Ulyana Nesheva, the inaugural 111sqm interior was to become a reflection of Ulyana’s unique style and artistic vision.

　　Balbek Bureau的目标是设计充满艺术感的现代纹身店。 Ulyana补充道——“尽管艺术家们的风格和偏好多种多样，但通过对极简主义的探索而聚集在一起。简单是最终目标，也是复杂的最高形式。”
　　Balbek Bureau’s goal was to design a tattoo parlour that resembled a contemporary art space. Ulyana herself adds – “The concept of the studio is also that all our artists, despite the diversity of their styles and colours, are united by an exploration of minimalism. Simplicity is the ultimate goal and the highest form of complexity.”

　　Pursuing the concept of minimalism with a black & white palette, Balbek Bureau opened up the interior and focused on each interior element, elevating it into an art object.

　　空间内部几乎没有门——呈现一个大的开放空间。入口右侧是柔软的等候区，左侧是形状独特的重达360公斤石墨混凝土桌。由手工打造不规则的边缘，向工作室中进行的设计和个性化的纹身艺术致敬。这件作品将所有区域相连接起来，作为接待台和艺术家的工作台，具有双重用途。其天鹅绒般的哑光表面与镀铬台灯形成鲜明对比。
　　There are almost no doors in the studio – with all areas unified, visitors enter a large open space. To the right of the entrance is a soft waiting area, and to the left, a uniquely shaped, 360kg graphite concrete table. Its edges were created by hand, an homage to unique and individual tattoo art undertaken in the studio. This piece unites all areas, serving a dual purpose as a reception desk and a work surface for artists to design their future works. Its velvety-matte surface sits in stark contrast with the shiny vintage table lamp of polished chrome.

　　雕塑“Boy”象征着一个人在社会中的角色；以大都市的节奏融入人群中，而忘记了自己。用手掌遮住双眼，沉心潜入自己的世界，在这里，本质是孤独的。雕塑放在空间的入口处，向走进的每个人讲述他的故事。
　　"Boy" symbolizes a person's role in society; you will merge into the crowd at the rhythm of the metropolis, and forget yourself. Cover your eyes with the palm of your hand, and you will dive into your own world, where you and your nature are lonely. This relic is placed directly in front of the entrance and tells his story to everyone who walks into it.

　　在入口处，我们悬挂了由金属电缆制成的天花板衣架和propro的衣架。电缆的总长度为100米，由Balbek Bureau的团队为项目定制设计。
　　At the entrance, we hung ceiling hangers made of metal cables and propro hangers. The total length of the cable is 100 meters, uniquely designed by our team.

　　入口对面是一间休息室，艺术家可以在那里闲暇。它通过高大的矩形门户与工作室空间结合在一起。在这个区域，我们放置了设计师Mart Stam设计的黑色皮革和铬金属复古扶手椅。
　　Opposite the entrance is a lounge where artists can relax. It is integrated with the studio space through a tall rectangular portal. In this area, we placed a black leather and chrome vintage armchair designed by designer Mart Stam.

　　在施工过程中，Balbek Bureau打开了所有的墙壁，发现内部隔断都是由砖和泡沫制成的，顶部装有石膏板。“最后决定在施工过程中将墙体的内部结构裸露展示”团队解释说。
　　During the construction work, Balbek Bureau opened up all the walls discovering all interior partitions are made of brick and foam, and tops lined with plasterboard. “We liked the idea of showing this multi-layered wall, so this was implemented spontaneously during construction,” explains the team.

　　Art is an indispensable part of the life of the founding artist. Podil is where Ulyana's first studio was established, and where she lives and finds inspiration. Her idea of a split mirror in the form of Podil was embodied by two Kiev sculptors from H&CO SCULPTURE STUDIO.
